The challenge
Previously, the repairs were handwritten by the customers on the designated change-repair slips and then attached to the clothing. These slips were made of normal paper, so they could fall off or tear. This made it It was therefore not always possible to identify the slips and garments without problems. Another factor is that many customers also did not have any alteration repair slips to hand or did not have the time to write down the repair request by hand.
The the messages were entered manually into ALSCO's own system when the goods arrived. manually into their own system. Only then could the cleaning and repairs could take place.

The personal contact
For the first personal meeting, we met at the headquarters in Cologne and took a detailed look and took a detailed look at the processes that were not yet controlled by a mobile interface. In the meantime, we thought about possible workflows together. At workshop was held with the responsible employees and the functions for the new WebApp were functions with regard to the new WebApp. Once these were defined, we created the first matching designs, and after their approval, the implementation could implementation could start directly.
The new Alsco workflow
For the creation of the new WebApp, we were able to use the existing change-repair bill. Since nothing had to be adapted in terms of content only had to be digitized, we were able to transfer the individual areas. For this we used VueJS to develop an appealing web interface that guides the user through the through the data entry process to make the use of the WebApp as simple and appealing as possible.
On the home page of the ALSCO Service App, the barcode of the garment is entered. The WebApp can access the camera and use it to scan the barcode. barcode. OCR (text recognition) is also used to capture additional data from the barcode for verification. Alternatively, the barcode can also be entered manually. This means that the customer is assigned directly via the barcode and there is no need for an extra registration for the customer.
Once the barcode has been scanned in, the corresponding message can be can be entered directly, for example "button on jacket missing". As soon as the data is transmitted to Alsco the current status of the message can be viewed in the app.
Feature ideas
The WebApp will soon also be available as a native app in the Apple and Google Play Store.
