The challenge
The task was to develop a new website for items GmbH. With the relaunch of the items GmbH website, the focus shifted from pure content presentation on the web to an innovative web solution that supports customers and partners in their digitalisation.
The old website ran with the CMS TYPO3 and offered only limited possibilities. The presentation of the team was done via a separate subpage. For individual pages it was not possible to integrate own contact persons, to embed videos or to create presentation options according to the requirements. The design of the pages was not consistently adhered to. The content and the overall presentation deviated strongly from the general external presentation.
There was a lack of possibilities to present completed projects in an appealing way with pictures and texts, to map networks and to promote the active exchange of clients. The processing times for publishing content were too long, as several areas in the company were involved before it came to external communication.
This is what Items says...
The objective
The aim was to combine all existing information on one website and to present it to potential customers and interested parties in an appealing and comprehensible way.
Visual support for sales
Text-heavy content was presented in an appealing and comprehensible way to pick up customers and interested parties. The exact requirements of the sales department were worked out in a workshop during the first project phase and recorded in writing.
Simple assignment of contact persons
All important information about an area is visible at first glance. For this purpose, an individual assignment of contact persons was planned, which can be changed with just a few mouse clicks. This way, the customer always sees the right contact person on the topic pages.
Innovative design using current technology
The WebSite was adapted to the characteristics of the company, both visually and in terms of content. This is achieved through an innovative design and using current web development techniques.
Easy expansion of the pages
The extension of pages has been simplified so that images, sliders, videos and individually formatted text areas can be created with just a few clicks.
Employees can enter content
In order to keep the website up-to-date and interesting in the long run, it is advantageous if employees can maintain new content themselves. This can be, for example, new projects, current news from the sector or events. With an adapted assignment of rights, the content can be entered by the employees and activated by a team leader or the marketing department. This shortens the editing time and shows customers more relevant and interesting content.
Efficient creation of the newsletter
The production of the newsletter was previously characterised by media disruptions and the work of some colleagues. With the newsletter tool integrated on the new homepage, the newsletter can be generated and sent automatically from the last published articles. Transferring content from Word to various templates and special image cropping are now a thing of the past.
